“I’m doing what I do because I really love women

and I want to make a woman feel like the best version of herself.

I want her to feel beautiful, I want to her to feel confident,

and I want her to feel empowered.”

The always-elegant Pop Star-turned-Designer may have shaped her star status into an impressive big-business brand, but she still understands what makes women tick. Victoria Beckham rose to super stardom with the Spice Girls twenty years ago, but it was her second act that launched her as an international style superstar. Building a multimillionaire-dollar fashion company from her image as the ultimate in “cool girl” chic, Beckham is now tailoring her high-end taste to a lower price point at Target. We sat down with the influential icon, who shared her secrets for simple yet sensational style.

  • What does style signify to you?

Style should be comfortable, timeless, and personal. It should look like you have not tried too hard; the style should make you feel confident as well.

  • How much significance should women place on fashion trends?

I don’t think it’s about fashion trends. I think it’s about doing what works for the individual. I think it’s important that you feel comfortable and I think it’s important to invest in key pieces that you are going to wear season after season. And just keep it simple. I think that’s the most important thing.

  • Any recommendation for an outfit that’s appropriate for all occasions?

I’d probably say a dress from my ready-to-wear collection. Those dresses are great: you can literally step in it, zip yourself up, and you’re good to go day or night, whether you’re going to the office or having a date night. So, I would definitely say one of my ready-to-wear dresses.

  • What is your attitude on styling?

Less is more: a gorgeous handbag, a really cool pair of sunglasses and minimal jewelry. Just keep it quite simple.

  • Any last words to share?

Just appreciate and love yourself. Dress for you, not for anybody else, just enough so that you feel good, like the best version of yourself.
